Job Overview

We are looking for experienced Functional Testers with 2–7 years of experience in Banking or FinTech applications.

The selected candidate will be responsible for functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and regression testing across Core Banking, Payments, Trade Finance, Corporate Loans, Virtual Accounts, Liquidity Management, and Digital Banking channels.

The role involves working closely with Business Analysts, developers, senior testers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, prepare test scenarios and test data, execute test cases, identify defects, and support UAT activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and functional requirements.

• Identify testable acceptance criteria and prepare positive and negative test scenarios.

• Prepare detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test data.

• Execute functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and regression testing.

• Validate business processes across multiple banking modules.

• Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.

• Validate JSON, XML, and banking message payloads.

• Perform SQL-based database validation and reconciliation.

• Capture test execution evidence and maintain results in test management systems.

• Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, and relevant test data.

• Track defects through resolution and perform defect retesting.

• Coordinate with Business Analysts, developers, and other stakeholders for defect clarification and resolution.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, coordination, and execution.

• Maintain regression test packs and reusable testing assets.

• Update test cases based on system enhancements and change requests.

• Ensure testing activities follow established quality standards and project processes.

The candidate should have practical experience with:

• API testing using Postman or SoapUI.

• REST and/or SOAP APIs.

• JSON and XML payload validation.

• Swagger / API documentation.

• System Integration Testing (SIT).

• End-to-End (E2E) transaction testing.

• Basic understanding of ISO 20022 and SWIFT MT message structures.

Required Skills

• 2–7 years of experience in Functional Testing.

• Experience working with Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech applications.

• Good understanding of core banking and payment workflows.

• Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Experience preparing test cases, scenarios, test data, and execution reports.

• Practical SQL knowledge for database validation and reconciliation.

• Hands-on experience with Postman and/or SoapUI.

• Experience with test and defect management tools such as JIRA/Xray, Zephyr, or Azure DevOps.

• Understanding of payment message formats such as ISO 20022 and SWIFT MT is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• ISTQB CTFL certification is preferred.

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology is preferred.

• Banking or financial services domain experience is highly preferred.
